WORLEY — Clark Fork junior Cole Reuter finished eighth to medal at the 2A state golf tournament.

Reuter carded an 83 on the final day of the tourney on Tuesday at the Circling Raven Golf Club to finish with a two-day score of 163.

"Today, I think he came out a little bit more loose and enjoyed the game and let the round come to him," head coach Brian Arthun said. "He had a couple holes where he could have got rattled, but he showed a lot of mental toughness in terms of being able to move on to the next hole and put that stuff behind him."

Breezy conditions made for quite the challenge, but Reuter limited the damage and never let up.

"To come out and shoot an 83 speaks volumes to his competitiveness," Arthun said. "He battled all day."

As a freshman in 2019, Reuter tied for sixth at state to medal. Arthun said Reuter's passion for the sport is unmatched and his skills on the course shined through at state.

"Back-to-back state medals, I don't know if that's ever been done at Clark Fork," he said.
