Melissa Gill, owner of Kalispell’s new Christian bookstore, The Narrow Gate, hopes the shop will serve as a source of books, gifts and community.

Located next to KFC and across the street from First Montana Bank, The Narrow Gate offers an array of faith-based books, including staff picks. The shop also houses “a dedicated space for people to pray, read and gather,” according to Gill.

She has hopes of “building a community space as cozy as home to gather, shop, read and relax.”

In the future, Gill also plans to offer Christian-based art classes and a café with French-press coffee, tea, and pastries made from scratch.

Beyond books, Gill is striving to bring the work of local artists into the shop for unique, handcrafted gifts. She said the goal of her new shop is to foster community connection through religious and faith-based materials and gifts.

The Narrow Gate also offers a rewards program that gives a portion of store proceeds to local churches.

“We are so blessed to call the beautiful city of Kalispell, Montana, home,” Melissa said. “...Our hearts’ desire is to truly be a blessing to the Flathead Valley and to all that visit here.”

The Narrow Gate is located at 88 N. Main St. in Kalispell.
