Law roundup: Dog reportedly held for ransom

A woman told Kalispell Police Department her dog was being held by someone for ransom.

A woman allegedly left a Winnebago unlocked in a lot used as overflow parking for a repair shop and returned to find needles and a bottle of urine and told officers transients had been living in it. Officers added the parking lot to its “hot sheet.”

A parks and recreation employee reportedly a man sleeping in a pavilion moved along because they believed he was responsible for trashing the men’s room. When the employee told him officers were coming he took off running up a hill.

The county planning office allegedly called police about an “unhappy customer” in the lobby.

Someone driving in an alley thought a man leaving on a bicycle was “acting like he was caught doing something wrong,” so they turned around and found a black trash bag but didn’t look to see what was inside. Turns out, it only contained a transient’s sleeping bag.

A man reportedly called police because he couldn’t find his cash, was unsure if a cashier gave him incorrect change and wanted officers to come to the business. The problem was resolved.

The driver of a black SUV purportedly revved the engine, drove toward a pedestrian, yelled at them and “made rude hand gestures” while pulling into a church parking lot. Two people got out of the vehicle and went into some woods.

A loud intoxicated man was seen stumbling by an underpass.

A man allegedly choked a woman.

A man was reportedly receiving harassing and concerning messages via Facebook containing detailed information about him and his child among other items.

Four horses were moseying down Pine Cone Lane and headed into a field, according to a report made to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A passerby on Montana 209 reportedly saw a woman hanging out the door of a parked camper trailer and was throwing trash over an embankment.
