A Moses Lake man charged with second-degree child assault pleaded not guilty Monday in Grant County Superior Court.

Gregory R. Burch, 41, was summoned to his first court appearance May 10, after Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Child Protective Services began investigating allegations in January 2020 he had abused an 8-year-old, records stated.

Prosecutors filed the charge against Burch in April 2021. He was allowed to remain out of jail on his own recognizance and hired a lawyer to represent him. His trial is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 11.
