Here's who won fire district seats

Final numbers are in for fire district races that were too close to call on election night.

Shawn Smidt won the race for Kootenai County Fire & Rescue Commissioner, Subdistrict 3, with 51% of the vote.

Keith “Hutch” Hutcheson beat Paul Wagner in the race for Subdistrict 4 with 63% of the total.

Michael Hunt defeated Gerald Johnson by an even bigger margin, garnering 68% of the vote.

It was a close race for Northern Lakes Fire Commissioner, Subdistrict 1, with Michael Pearce capturing 51% of the votes.

His opponent, John Horn, lost by fewer than 200 votes.

Doug Duncan beat Terry Thompson in Subdistrict 5, with 58% of the vote. Doug is the husband of Kootenai County Commissioner Leslie Duncan.

In the race for Timberlake Fire Commissioner, Subdistrict 5, Sam Rick Conner garnered 56% of the vote and defeated Todd Amende.
