DALTON GARDENS — No one was charged after a domestic dispute that led to the Kootenai County SWAT team descending on a home.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:20 p.m. Thursday to a report of a domestic dispute at a Dalton Gardens home.

At the scene, deputies reportedly heard what sounded like gunshots inside the residence and called the multi-agency SWAT team to assist.

As the SWAT team made announcements and prepared to enter the home, a woman came outside and surrendered to law enforcement.

Police said she was intoxicated and uncooperative.

The other party involved in the dispute was not found inside the home, though police later contacted him by phone.

Coeur d’Alene police responded to his location and detained him so deputies could investigate.

He was also uncooperative, police said.

Due to lack of cooperation from the involved parties and the lack of physical evidence at the scene, neither the man nor the woman was charged with any crime.

Community Library Network’s new policies could fracture regional library consortium

For decades, the Community Information Network has enabled libraries in North Idaho and eastern Washington to share their collections and broadened patrons’ access to materials. Now a restrictive policy for minor library cardholders in the Community Library Network, unlike any other in the library consortium, could mean that patrons across the region lose access to library materials.
