Patricia “Pat” Ann Shackelford, 69, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away Nov, 7, 2021. Patricia was born on June 14, 1952 (Flag Day), in Santa Rosa, Calif. She grew up in Sebastopol, Calif., with her brothers, sisters and many, many cousins. She was a bit of a wild child. Her brother, Marc, taught her how to drive when she was a preteen, to the Reservation.

She met the love of her life, Ron Shackelford, and married him on Nov. 26, 1973. Together they had eight children, 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Two of their favorite places to get away were Boomtown, Nev., or Reno, Nev. They also loved going to play Bingo at Colusa Casino. They always made holidays and birthdays extra special.

Pat was a teacher, a guide, a mentor and much more to all who knew her. She was one you could always turn to for advice and she spoke with love and wisdom. While raising eight children, she obtained her GED and attended Analy High School. She also earned an Associate's Degree for Human Services and Early Childhood Education from Yuba College and studied at Sierra College, Santa Rosa Junior College and UC Davis. She worked as a Program Director of 4-H in Lincoln, Calif., for roughly 20 years.

Her hobbies are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, bingo. She could never pass up a yard sale and most importantly, she loved bargain shopping. Pat spent her later years enjoying her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Shackelford; her brothers: James Nash, Marc Nash and Jeffery Nash; her sisters: Adriane Nash, Patty Jean Nash, Susan Nash and Jennifer Nash. She is survived by her siblings: Francis Prothro, Nancy and Terry Caldwell, Kenneth and Jackie Nash, Sean Nash, LaVern Shackelford and Julie Nash; as well as her children: Rhonda and Noel Coward, Bradford Shackelford, Joanne and Jon Arabian, James and Kimi Shackelford, Raymond Shackelford, Travis Shackelford, Sandra Shackelford, and Daryl and Staycee Shackelford.
