Loretta Ann Stronks was born, July 23, 1926, in Perth Amboy, N.J., to Joseph and Pauline (Marcinkowski) Czubak. Loretta passed away, Nov. 13, 2021, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Loretta graduated from high school in 1944 and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1947.

She moved to Los Angeles, Calif., to pursue her profession and was employed by the American Red Cross Blood Bank, which took her to movie studios, aboard aircraft carriers, Army and Navy Bases for blood collection during the Korean War.

She met the love of her life, Walter Stronks. They were married in Las Vegas, Nev., in 1951 after a three-month courtship. They had two sons, Garrett and Randy, who have been a joy and comfort always.

They entered the business world and worked as owners of the Finley Point Store, in Polson, Mont. The boys enjoyed the country life of being able to walk to their favorite fishing places and to the Flathead Lake for boating and swimming.

The next move was to Sandpoint, Idaho, where Walt had a Beer Distributorship and Loretta went to work for Bonner County Treasurer as Senior Deputy Treasurer, retiring in 1988 to enjoy winters in Yuma, Ariz., and traveling to Mexico and the surrounding areas. Retirement included a Mexican cruise, Alaskan cruise, Panama Canal cruise and a Hawaiian cruise which were the favorites of retirement.

She is survived by her sons, Garrett and Randy; three grandsons and four great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers and her husband Walter.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements. Please visit Loretta’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at yatesfuneralhomes.com.
