Free turkey feast on Thanksgiving
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 4 years, 1 month AGO
COEUR d’ALENE — A free Thanksgiving dinner is scheduled noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at 401 N. Second St., in Coeur d’Alene.
The celebration is hosted by The Altar Church food bank and Cherished Ones Ministries.
It will offer a feast of turkey, potatoes, vegetables and lots of desserts. Visitors can dine in or take a dinner to go. Delivery is also available.
About 375 people attended last year.
Organizer Stephanie Roberts said they are putting on the event for the second time “to help people out that need it” and to “share the love of Christ.”
“A lot of people don’t have any family or friends they can be with,” Roberts said. “A lot of people just need to know that someone cares and loves them.”
About 50 volunteers will be on hand to prepare, serve and clean up. There will be music and good conversation as people are welcome to stay and enjoy the day.
Roberts said donations of money and food are welcome.
