Christmas Festival just a week away in Kellogg

KELLOGG — Sleigh bells are jingling, or at least they will be in a week as the Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce brings the Silver Valley Christmas Lighting Festival to Kellogg once again.
The annual event took a small hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it’s back this year and — hopefully — bigger than ever.
As part of the festivities, the Chamber organizes a craft fair for local makers, a holiday parade, and then the day concludes with the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks show at Silver Mountain.
Throughout the same day, businesses throughout the area will be participating in Shop Small Saturday — a localized version of the national event that emphasizes shopping at local businesses on the Saturday following Thanksgiving — one of the busiest shopping periods of the entire year.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to use the Silver Valley Shop Local Saturday Stamp Card at the participating businesses — this will get them access to exclusive holiday deals and specials and each store visit gets the shopper a stamp. Each stamp is an entry into a drawing for one of several local gift cards.
However, instead of only running for a single day, Silver Valley’s Shop Small event will run through Dec. 24.
Stamp cards are available at local businesses and will be available at the craft fair, as well as the Silver Valley Chamber Office.
The Chamber is hoping to get as much participation as they can from their local community, not just in Shop Small, but in all phases of their Lighting Festival.
“We are really looking forward to this holiday season with our wonderful community,” said Silver Valley Chamber Coordinator Becca Stone. “We are still accepting vendor applications for the craft fair and for whoever would like to participate in the parade.”
The Silver Valley Christmas Lighting Festival is Saturday, Nov. 27.
The craft fair will be held at Kellogg Middle School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The holiday parade, which will run from Main Street in uptown Kellogg all the way down to the Silver Mountain Base, begins at 5 p.m.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony and fireworks show begins at 6 p.m. at Silver Mountain.
For more information, or to register for either the craft fair or the parade email becca@silvervalleychamber.com or call 208-784-0821.
Stop by the Chamber Office at 10 E. Station Ave. in Kellogg to pick up a Shop Small Stamp Card.
