Logan Hunt
College of Idaho cross country
Hunt, a sophomore from Timberlake High, was named Men's Runner of the Year for the Cascade Conference on Tuesday. Hunt won three individual races — including the Cascade Conference Championship — while placing third at the NAIA Championships in 24 minutes, 58.9 seconds last Friday in Vancouver, Wash. Hunt is the third Yote runner to win the honor, as Greg Montgomery earned the award in 2012 and 2013, with Marcos Cervantes winning in 2018.
Brycen Kempton
Lewis-Clark State cross country
Kempton, a freshman from Post Falls High, finished the NAIA Championship last Friday at Fort Vancouver in Vancouver, Wash., in 42nd with a time of 25:57, just two spots from All-American contention. "Brycen Kempton really shined today," Lewis-Clark State coach Mike Collins said. "We will be depending on him an awful lot next year to provide some leadership. This is a nice experience for him, and missing All-American by two spots is probably a little disappointing but will hopefully light a fire for him to come back and get that award in the future."
