The Red Hot Mamas are planning another trip to Ireland and lads and lassies can join them.
The popular comedy group expects to perform throughout St. Patrick's Day celebrations on their March 11-19 tour.
An orientation meeting to outline trip details and an audition is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday, at the Post Falls Armory, 5453 E. Seltice Way.
The Red Hot Mamas received a special invitation from The Honorable Micheal MacDonncha, Lord Mayor of Dublin, and The Honorable James Collins, Mayor of Limerick, together with Music Celebrations International to perform at Ireland’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2020, again in 2021 and once again for 2022.
Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the group couldn’t go the first two times.
“We have high hopes that this third time around is the lucky charm for our comedy group to bring Red Hot Mamas special fun, humor, and goodwill to multiple performances across southern Ireland,” said Mikki Stevens, Red Hot Mamas director.
The Mamas will perform in a Dublin stage show alongside Irish performers to benefit local charity at the EPIC museum. They'll also participate in Limerick’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade as well as casual entertaining throughout their travels of southern Ireland.
The group is known for its use of grocery carts and walkers.
“Ireland eagerly awaits The Red Hot Mamas’ humorous performances and comedic antics,” said Luke Wiscombe, spokesman for Music Celebrations International.
Trip participants will stay in a real castle in Dublin, attend an Irish dancing workshop at the Bru Boru Cultural Centre and a traditional Irish music session at the Doolin Music House.
Dec. 15 is the deadline to get your name on airline ticketing. Jan. 15 is the deadline to join them on their land-only package while arranging your own air travel.
There are still COVID-19 travel restrictions to enter and leave Ireland.
“After years of dreaming, it’s finally coming to fruition,” said Karen Welts, RHM administrative director. “Irish parades are culturally quite different from U.S. parades requiring us to research and create specialization for our performances.”
