Washington State 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 20-18: At Pullman, Despite a career day from freshman Katy Ryan and holding match point in hand, the Cougars (8-6, 2-2 Pac-12) could not finish off the upset of the Bruins (10-2, 3-1) as UCLA escaped Bohler Gym with a five-set victory. Ryan, a right side hitter from Lakeland High, produced a season-best 19 kills while hitting .485 for the Cougars.
