Virtual mayoral forum is today

Today is the first of two virtual forums on city races on the ballot on Nov. 2.
The forum, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will feature mayors in contested races in Bonner County. A second forum on contested city elections will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Both forums are virtual. Viewers can watch them live on Zoom or on the Daily Bee Facebook page. The forums are an effort by the Daily Bee to provide voters more information before Election Day, Nov. 2.
Recordings of the forums will be available in the political tab section of bonnercountydailybee.com on the following day. The Daily Bee will also be covering each forum for the daily paper.

Today's forum will Priest River, candidates Timothy Simpkins and Kevin Wylie are running for the seat. In Dover, George Eskridge and Ryan Wells are running for the seat.
The Thursday, Oct. 7, forum will feature contested council races. In Kootenai, Robert Rutan and David Sundquist are running for Seat 1. In Dover, Kimberly Bledsoe, Merlin Glass, Amy Lizotte and Mark Sauter are running for the two open seats.
In Sandpoint, Joel Aispuro, Wayne Benner, Arthur Bistline, John Darling Jr., Justin Dick, Frytz Mor, Benjamin Omodt, and Justin Welker are running for three open seats. In Priest River, Billy Mullaley, Sean Schneider, and Candace Turner are running for the two open seats.

Voters must register by 5 p.m. Oct. 8 to participate in the November election. Virtual registration is available at voteidaho.gov.
Same-day registration and voting are available on Election Day at your polling place. If you aren't sure where your polling place is located, you can enter your address at voteidaho.gov to find out.
