Lou Ellen Jacobson, 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Private family services have been held.

Lou Ellen was born on April 26, 1930, to Boyd and Blanche Barry in Montana. She helped clean planes during World War II. Lou Ellen married Ray Simmet on 1946 in Spokane, Washington, where they made their home, and later divorced.

She married Roy Jacobson in 1955 in Thompson Falls, Montana. They lived in Sandpoint and she worked as a bartender. She enjoyed working on crafts and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by two sons, Dan (Trudy) Simmet of Post Falls, Idaho, and Roy “Jake” (Carla) Jacobson of Ponderay, Idaho; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wayne Barry of Spokane.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Jacobson, daughter Linda Delconte, and son David Simmet.
