CRT is not taught at LPOSD

CRT (Critical Race Theory) is the theory, that racism is embedded in our culture. It persists in our systems of commerce, government, and education. It exists in the very being of all the white European ancestry Americans.

I don’t believe we are all naturally racist and reject Critical Race Theory and all forms of discrimination and those who profess it. I deny the allegation that our school district, Lake Pend Oreille School District, teaches Critical Race Theory in any of our programs or classrooms. There is no place for discrimination, bigotry, or sexism in our culture in our school district. We teach equality and equal opportunity and practice it every day. I reject the premise that we are all inherently racist. No one is born racist. Go watch a group of kindergartners play. Racism is acquired not innate.

I challenge those who assert that school district is teaching or practicing Critical Race Theory to cite a single example. CRT is a smokescreen used by some whose intention is to discredit public education for a selfish political purpose.

Public education by definition stands for equality, equal opportunity, and fairness to all. I detest CRT and all forms of discrimination. I reject the definition that we are all racist by nature. CRT is not taught or practiced at LPOSD, never has been, and never will be as long as I sit on the board.
