The stakes of the LPOSD school board election could not be higher. The extreme right-wing is engineering a takeover of our schools that will be felt in our lives and the lives of our children for years to come.

One candidate, Jalon Peters, is aligned with the Idaho Freedom Foundation. The IFF has stated clearly that their goal is to end public education in Idaho. Jalon Peters has stated he intends to terminate the LPOSD levy. This would devastate our schools and would bring the IFF one step closer to their goal.

The other candidate, Gary Suppiger, has been a champion of public schools here in Bonner County now for 20 years.

If you believe that the cornerstone of a healthy community is education, then please be a voter and join me in voting for the candidate who supports public education - Gary Suppiger - on Nov. 2.
