Polson man charged with murder in Colorado

A Polson man residing in Aurora, Colorado, was taken into custody Sunday morning and charged with first-degree murder following the death of a 20-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified by authorities.
Officers responded to a report of an injured woman at an apartment in south Aurora, a suburb of Denver, around 8 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
Officers found a 20-year-old woman suffering from apparent physical trauma at the apartment. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dakota Chinnock, 20, was detained at the same apartment after homicide detectives responded to investigate.
Authorities were withholding the victim's name while the local coroner's office finished notifying her family.
Chinnock attended Polson High School and was most recently employed as a technician at Brakes Plus, according to Facebook page. His past jobs included stints at Midas and Stageline Pizza.
Chinnock was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Center on a first-degree murder charge. He has a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident, who has not yet spoken with police, to reach out to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
