BONNERS FERRY — The annual Friends of Mirror Lake benefit golf tournament took place over the Labor Day weekend with a great turnout to support improvements to the municipal golf course.

A good turnout helped raise money for future improvements to the course with past projects, including new restrooms and basalt tee box markers.

After consultation with the golf course management and the city of Bonners Ferry, the following improvements will include new sand for the traps and a tee box on hole two.

The tournament featured a nine-hole alternate shot team format and a second 9-hole sole survivor format for Flights A and B.

Scott Schopen and Tom Mayo won the team event. The A flight was won by Chad Iacolucci, and the B flight by Tom Mayo.

Friends of Mirror Lake officials said they would like to thank the generous donors, sponsors, participants, the city of Bonners Ferry, the golf course management team of Ralph Lotspeich and James Mize.
