Moses Lake police are investigating the alleged homicide of a 21-year-old Moses Lake man found dead Wednesday with a gunshot wound to the head, according to a release issued Friday.
A man walking his dog saw Brandon D. Dick’s body at about 10:24 a.m. in a marshy area north of Montlake Park, which is at 401 Linden Ave. The person then called 911.
Moses Lake Police Department Chief Kevin Fuhr told the Herald Dick likely was killed in that area sometime overnight, between Tuesday and Wednesday, and detectives hadn’t determined whether it was gang-related.
The Grant County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy Thursday, positively identifying Dick and cause of death, the release stated.
Detectives processed the area and gathered evidence. They’re also seeking witnesses and video surveillance, as well as working with family members to identify Dick’s friends and where he was prior to his death.
Anyone who had contact with Dick in the days before his death or has information on the shooting can call MLPD Detective Sgt. Kyle McCain or MLPD Detective Juan Serrato at 509-754-3887.
