MULLAN — Mullan-St. Regis throttled Clark Fork football on Friday, earning a 68-8 victory over the Wampus Cats.
It was the North Star League opener for both schools.
The Tigers made it to the 1A Division II state semifinals last fall and they showed the Wampus Cats just how dominant they can be.
"It wasn't very pretty," Clark Fork head coach Brian Arthun saud. "Mullan is all that and then some."
The Tigers were in control from the opening kickoff and Clark Fork couldn't slow them down.
"We had trouble moving the ball on offense," Arthun said.
In the fourth quarter, Cole Sanroman found his twin brother, Chase Sanroman, for Clark Fork's only touchdown. Carter Sanroman ran in the two-point conversion.
No further information was available.
"It was a learning experience," Arthun said. "We found out what a really good football team is like and we got some work to put in because we play them again in a couple of weeks."
Clark Fork (3-1, 0-1 NSL) will host Wallace at 6 p.m. Friday in its home opener.
