SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint girls soccer team will celebrate its 10 seniors tonight against Lakeland at War Memorial Field.
The game starts at 4:30 p.m. and Senior Night festivities will begin about a half hour prior to kickoff.
Head coach Conor Baranski said this is a special group of seniors and their leadership has allowed the team to remain perfect through nine games this season.
"They have been inclusive, positive, organized and selfless leaders ever since this last June," he said about the seniors. "Their leadership style makes others want to do their best because they are always encouraging. For the entire season, I have not heard anyone say anything overly negative while we are all together. And the few times we've been in losing positions or not playing our best, this team still attempts to lift each other up, rather than starting to blame others ... That comes back to this excellent group of young women."
Bulldog swag will be raffled off during the event and fans are encouraged to wear red to show their support for the team.
Sandpoint (9-0, 7-0 IEL) can secure the 5A-4A Inland Empire League title with a win over Lakeland.
