A Kalispell man faces a felony sexual intercourse without consent charge for allegedly abusing a young girl in 2021.

Ray Allen Roberts, 52, is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond following his arrest. His arraignment in Flathead County District Court is scheduled for April 13.

Deputies with the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Roberts in October 2021 after the victim’s mother alerted authorities, according to court documents. The child told her mother and grandmother that Roberts lured her into a bedroom and put his genitals in her mouth.

Authorities believe the alleged abuse occurred in the weeks and months before June 27, 2021.

The victim offered a similar account of the abuse during a forensic interview with members of the Child Advocacy Center, court documents said.

Roberts faces a maximum penalty of 100 years behind bars and a $50,000 fine if convicted.
