SBA offering free virtual training

COEUR d’ALENE - Registration is open for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s free virtual training. “Building a Better America Through Entrepreneurship,” is being offered in honor of National Small Business Week and takes place May 2-5.

The four-day summit will provide business owners access to federal resources, educational workshops and networking opportunities. There are about 32.5 million small businesses currently operating in the United States, said a Friday press release.

The SBA provides entrepreneurs in rural, suburban and urban communities the applicable tools and information to support the dream of business ownership and the achievement of success.

Shining a spotlight on the economic contributions and the tenacity of America’s diverse entrepreneurs, SBA has helped businesses navigate the changes caused by COVID.

Managing COVID’s variant waves, and resulting supply chain disruptions and inflation have created unique challenges for small business owners. Despite this, the entrepreneurial spirit has gotten stronger. New business applications grew by about 30 percent during the pandemic, the press release said.

Small Business Week has been recognized annually for more than 51 years. The SBA is the “only go-to resource and voice for small businesses that is backed by the federal government.”
