Prepare to vote in the May 17 primary election

Use the online voter tools offered by the Idaho Secretary of State at voteidaho.gov to:

  • Make sure you are registered to vote
  • Register to vote, update your existing voter registration or download a paper voter registration form to submit to your county clerk/elections office
  • Request an absentee ballot or check the status of your absentee ballot
  • Check the status of your party affiliation
  • Find your polling location
  • Download a paper absentee ballot request form to mail, email or fax to your county clerk/elections office.

Absentee ballot requests must be submitted annually. They are good for one calendar year, from January to December.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot from your county clerk/elections office is May 6.

May 17 is election day. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
