RATHDRUM — Sandpoint's tennis team earned another 4A Inland Empire League victory on Tuesday with a 10-2 win over Lakeland.

The girls swept for the fourth time this season, but the boys' singles players swept for the first time in 2022.

"It was a brand new singles line up too," Sandpoint tennis coach Kent Anderson said. "That was what was so interesting about it."

Sophomore Anthony Ramires made his varsity debut pairing with Aubrey Knowles in mixed doubles.

The duo defeated Lakeland's Allison Rader and Michael Pearson 6-4, 6-1.

"He's been challenging for a while now and he's won every time," Anderson said. "He has great hands and he's very quick at the net. Lakeland had no answers for them."

Maise Brazill made her return to the varsity lineup after being out of action for the last three weeks.

She defeated Lakeland's Malia Bateman 6-0, 6-0.

"She just never misses her spot," Anderson said of "never miss" Maise. "It's so good to have her back in our lineup."

Neva Reseska also dominated at the number one girls slot defeating Lakeland’s Elle Brown 6-2, 6-0.

Sandpoint next goes up against Coeur d'Alene on the road on Thursday, April 16.

"They will be our toughest match of the season other than Lewiston," Anderson said. "We've played strong against them in the past but this year they have a really strong team."
