Coeur d’Alene High School students are presenting four more runs of “Anastasia: The Musical,” today through Saturday.

“I am thrilled to bring this debut production of Anastasia the Broadway musical to the Coeur d’Alene area as we all return to the theater,” said director Jared Helm. “This production has an overall atmosphere and energy of professionalism that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages.”

The show is the premiere of the production in North Idaho, and will include a live pit with professional musicians. Helm, along with the musical director and pianist, are all graduates of the University of Idaho. Helm said they have sold over 1,000 tickets and want to continue.

“In today's world we need art more now than ever,” Helm said. “I want to invite all to attend this production as the 10 time state winning CHS Theater Department works to craft an experience that is sure to shine.”

The show follows a young girl who finds herself an orphan after the Russian revolution. After a decade of not knowing who she is, the girl meets a young man and his friend who work to convince her she is the missing princess, desiring the reward offered for her.

“Our team has worked hard to create this beautiful world of Anastasia,” said stage manager and choreographer Kara Dailey. “My peers and I are proud of our show, and are excited to share this classic and epic tale with audiences. As a senior within the program I am looking forward to my final production with CHS.”

Showtimes are tonight at 6 and Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. All shows will take place at the CHS theater. Tickets are $10 for CHS students with an ASB card, $12 for students and seniors, and $14 for adults.

“I am honored to be a part of this production. It is truly a dream come true,” said CHS student Ally Taylor, playing Anastasia. “This theater will always have a special place in my heart.”

Tickets are available at chstheater.org, 208-769-2999, or 60 minutes prior to the event at the door.
