Montana product Osweiler joining ESPN as college analyst

Brock Osweiler is heading to the announcers’ booth.
The Flathead High graduate, who retired from the NFL after seven seasons in 2019, is joining ESPN as a college football analyst. ESPN.com reported that he’ll team up with play-by-play commentator Anish Shroff and sideline reporter Taylor McGregor on a package of games this season.
“College football is so special, and there’s nothing like the pageantry and excitement that takes over the stadium on a fall Saturday,” said Osweiler, who played three seasons at Arizona State and threw for a school-record 4,036 yards for the 2011 Sun Devils. “I can’t wait to be part of the team at ESPN and share the perspective and passion I have for the game I love. Since retiring, I’ve thought about football every day and I’m truly excited for this next chapter.”
Osweiler played five seasons with the Denver Broncos and was part of their Super Bowl 50 championship team in 2015. He signed with the Houston Texans ahead of the 2016 season, and ended his career with the Miami Dolphins.
He was a second-round draft pick by the Broncos in 2012. He started seven games, going 5-2, in place of the injured Peyton Manning during Denver’s last Super Bowl season. He returned to Denver and started four games in 2017, and then caught on with Miami in 2018, starting five more.
He ended his NFL career with a 15-15 record, 7,481 yards, 37 touchdowns and 31 interceptions.
ESPN will announce its full roster of college football commentating crews the first week of August.
“Brock is a tremendous addition to our industry-leading crew of college football commentators,” said ESPN vice president Steve Ackels. “He brings a fantastic football IQ and perspective to the booth. We look forward to having him join our team this season.”
Osweiler resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and two daughters. Outside of football Brock is an avid golfer and enjoys cooking for friends and family.
