Circling Raven Championship: Epson 'Road to the LPGA' Tour Player Spotlight: Gabby Lemieux

Circling Raven Golf Club in Worley will host the second Circling Raven Championship this week.

The Epson “Road to the LPGA” Tour event is scheduled to be held annually at Circling Raven through 2023. This year, it will take place the week of Aug. 22-28, and the field of 100-plus competitors from around the globe will compete for $200,000 in prize money during the tournament, Aug. 26-28.

Top performers during the Epson Tour (formerly Symetra Tour) season earn their LPGA Tour memberships at season’s end — eight players who competed in the 2021 Circling Raven Championship — earned their ticket to the LPGA this year. The tournament showcases many of the world’s finest golfers striving to reach that pinnacle of women’s professional golf.

This week’s player is Gabby Lemieux.

• Lemieux is a native of Caldwell

• Only Native American competing on LPGA and/or Epson Tour

• Nike N7 Ambassador & member of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribe of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation

• During high school she won the 2014 state title, 2012 and 2014 District Individual Championship, was three-time Player of the Year, and helped lead basketball and volleyball teams to district titles in 2012

• Qualified for US Girls Nationals three times (2012, 2013, 2014)

• Participant in the 2013 PGA Junior Qualifier and Junior World Qualifier

• Team member of the 2012 and 2014 America’s Cup

• Two-time Idaho Golf Association Junior State Champion (2009-2014)

• Named 2013 IGA Women’s State Champion

• Competed collegiately at Texas Tech from 2014-2018

• Captured four first place finishes in college – 2015 Betsy Rawls, T1 2015 Jim West, 2016 Red Raider Invitational, and 2018 Lady Boilermaker Classic

• Finished T83 at LPGA Qualifying School Stage 2 to first earn Epson Tour membership in 2018

• Recorded her career best Epson Tour finish of T3 at the 2021 Circling Raven Championship
