Frederick "Fred" Prosch (Fritz), 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Rathdrum, Idaho, Aug. 17, 2022, with his daughter and son-in-law at his side.
Fred was born Aug. 25, 1940, in Harrison, Idaho, to John and Louise Prosch. He is survived by his daughter, Johnna; his brother, Cliff Prosch; brother, Johnny Prosch; and sister, Gail Davaz.
Fred joined the Navy at age 17 and was stationed in San Francisco for basic training and served in the Honor Guard. Later he was stationed in Guam, where he served refueling aircraft. After the Navy, Fred married Loretta Lee and they had one child, a girl, Johnna. Fred was a very loving Daddy, Son, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Grampa and Great-Grandpa. Fred also had lifelong friends since the fifth grade, that were very special to him. Fred was a longtime member of the Hayden Lake Eagles. He also had many good friends there.
I will miss my dad immensely. He taught me a lot of things in my life but not how to live without him!!
A military honors funeral will be held at 11:15 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash., 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, Wash. 99022.
