Somers-Lakeside School District has an opening on the school board following the resignation of Andy Wendle, who has moved out of the area.

The opening is for a term that ends in 2023. People interested in serving as a trustee may submit a letter of intent to district Superintendent Joe Price by email at [email protected], or by mail at 315 School Addition Road, Somers, MT 59932.

The deadline is Sept. 12. Eligible candidates must be registered voters who live within the boundaries of Somers-Lakeside School District. Candidates will be interviewed by current trustees at a school board meeting Sept. 19 prior to appointing someone.

School board trustees are volunteers representing the public. Trustees are responsible for making decisions that impact how schools operate and are held accountable. Duties include, but are not limited to, setting achievement goals; reviewing and adopting policies, annual budgets and educational programs; calling for elections; and overseeing employment.
