Man arrested after shots fired following argument

Gunfire erupted during an incident involving a forklift late Wednesday night on Jellison Road southeast of Evergreen.
According to a press release from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested John Charles Jellison, 60, of Kalispell, for assault with a weapon. Jellison is currently in the Flathead County Detention Center for the pending charges.
At about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a residence on Jellison Road for a reported disturbance with shots being fired. When they arrived, two men were detained and questioned.
Deputies learned that the incident began after a verbal argument between the two men had escalated into an alleged assault with a pipe and shots being fired as one of the men tried to flee on a forklift.
Witnesses at the scene reported hearing the shots.
