Over the weekend, the Bulldogs traveled to Kennewick for their first wrestling tournament of the year. Sandpoint brought 13 athletes and competed against more than 20 teams.

The Bulldogs placed third as a team and had five individuals place in the top five.

“They overperformed and wrestled well,” coach Doug Fry said.

Andrew Duke and Aiden Rork, both competing for Sandpoint, went up against each other in the 106 weight class final match. Duke was victorious and Rork came away with a second-place finish.

Shane Sherrill placed first in the 138 category, Jordan Tyler took third place in the 182 category and Christian Troumbley came home with fourth place in the 160 category.

“I was really happy, it was a joy coaching them,” Fry said.

The Bulldogs head to Kellogg this weekend for their next tournament.
