WSU's Henley named to first team as 10 Cougs earn All-Pac-12 accolades
Ten Washington State football players earned 2022 All-Pac-12 Conference honors, including linebacker Daiyan Henley, who earned first-team honors, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Henley was named to the first team and also to the second team as an all-purpose/special teams player while edge’s Ron Stone Jr. and Brennan Jackson joined Henley on the second team. Seven players earned honorable mention; punt returner Robert Ferrel, punter Nick Haberer, left tackle Jarrett Kingston, defensive back Armani Marsh, cornerback Chau Smith-Wade, quarterback Cameron Ward and running back Nakia Watson.

Offensive Player of the Year: Caleb Williams, USC
Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year: Tuli Tuipulotu, USC
Freshman Offensive Player of the Year: Damien Martinez, Oregon State
Freshman Defensive Player of the Year: Lander Barton, Utah
Co-Coaches of the Year: Kalen DeBoer, Washington and Jonathan Smith, Oregon State
WSU's Hicks Named Freshman All-American
Washington State redshirt freshman safety Jaden Hicks was named to the Freshman All-America third team, College Football News announced.
Hicks enters the LA Bowl on Dec. 17 second on the team with 69 tackles, the most among Pac-12 freshmen defenders, along with two tackles-for-loss, one sack, four pass breakups, one interception and one fumble he returned for a touchdown.
EWU's Venters earns Big Sky honors
After posting a career high in scoring over the weekend, Eastern Washington redshirt sophomore Steele Venters was named the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Venters scored 33 points in Eastern's 78-70 win over North Dakota State this past Saturday on a 14-of-19 shooting performance, including 3 of 7 on 3-point shots.
Eastern Washington plays at California tonight at 7 p.m.
