Kelsey Cessna scored 11 points in the first quarter and Daylee Driggs backed that up with an additional eight points en route to the Bulldogs defeating the Spartans, 60-8.

Sandpoint was up 26-2 at the end of the first quarter.

“We did a good job at penetrating against their zone,” Sandpoint coach Will Love said.

Priest River scored five point in the second quarter all coming from Desi Humphry. The game settled down and the Bulldogs added 13 more points to the scoreboard, six coming from Aliya Strock.

“The girls responded really well from last nights game,” Love said referring to the game against Post Falls on Friday.

At halftime the Spartans were down 39-7.

The Bulldogs came out in the third quarter at the same pace they started the game. Driggs hit two three-point shots and secured her position as the high point scorer for the game with 19 total points.

Lily Richardson also scored a three pointer, and Cessna and Strock finished out the quarter with five points each. The Bulldogs hit a season high for three-point makes with eight total shots. Sandpoint held the Spartans to zero points in the third quarter and led Priest River 60-7 heading into the fourth quarter.

“The girls played some really good defense,” Love said.

Priest River had some good moments throughout the game but as a young team they were no match for Sandpoint’s experience. The Bulldogs played four JV players with a running clock to finish out the fourth quarter.

The Spartans scored another point from Addison Kingery but in the end Sandpoint came out with the win 60-8.

Next up, Priest River will play at Kellogg High School on Wednesday and Sandpoint will play Bonners Ferry on Tuesday at home.
