PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: North Idaho Christian wins third straight Santa Shootout

PRIEST RIVER — Sophomore Jennifer Peterson scored 15 points and the North Idaho Christian Royals pulled away from a five-point halftime lead with a 26-2 third quarter and beat the Clark Fork Wampus Cats 50-20 on Saturday in the championship game of the Santa Shootout at Priest River High.

Riley Overturf added 12 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots for North Idaho Christian (11-1), which won the tournament for the third straight year. Danica Kelly chipped in eight points, six assists and five steals.

Amari Printz-Hay led Clark Fork with six points.

North Idaho Christian plays Pullman Christian on Monday at the HUB Sports Center in Liberty Lake.

LEWISTON — Junior Aliya Strock scored 10 of her game-high 29 points in the second quarter as the visiting Bulldogs rolled to the Inland Empire League victory over the Bengals.

Demi Driggs and Daylee Driggs each added nine points for Sandpoint (7-3, 1-2 IEL), which returns to action Jan. 3 at home vs. Lewiston.

Zoie Kissinger led Lewiston with 12 points.

Sophomore Desi Humphrey scored a game-high 15 points for Priest River.
