The Coeur d'Alene Elks Lodge No. 1254 helped make the season merry and bright for foster families during the Elks annual Christmas party, held Dec. 10 at the lodge on Prairie Avenue.

Elks members and community partners collected funds and gift items to host a grand gathering that featured crafts, lunch and lots of goodies for local kids in foster care. Santa and Mrs. Claus also made an appearance to make the day extra-special.

Donors included: Black Sheep, $1,000; Dutch Bros, $250; Rocky Mountain Liquidation, $100; and the Cancer and Community Charities (3Cs), $500. The Wessling and Nagle families donated $600 and brought a horse-drawn wagon to the party for classic Christmas fun.
