Jamie Lynn (Balbi) Ekness, 54, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Nov. 30, 2022, with her family by her side. Jamie was born Feb. 9, 1968, in Butte, Mont., to Dave and Jean (Morris) Balbi.

Jamie was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She was fierce and never let anything keep her down for long. She passed on her light and passion to all those who knew her - whether it was a makeup tip or just a shared moment of peace staring at the lake or ocean. If you ever had the chance to speak with her, you probably knew she always cheered for the Seahawks, loved being in the sun by the water, and was proud to have been born in Butte, Mont. Most of all, you knew how much she loved her family, especially her dogs.

Jamie rejoins her parents, Jean and Dave Balbi; her twin brother, David; and her closest cousin, Kimberly Svee. She also rejoins many aunts, uncles and friends. She leaves behind her passionate husband, Kevin Ekness; her two children, Devin Ekness and Tayler (Tim Malm) Ekness; and furry friend, Scooby. She also leaves behind her younger sister, Beth (Curt) Rheinschmidt; older sister, Teresa (Kevin) Thomas; and niece, Sara (Ryan Colvin) Thomas. Jamie will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, and it is up to all of us to carry on the light that shone so brightly through her.

A memorial service and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements. Please visit Jamie’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com
