Wayne Arthur Lesterberg, 66, passed away Dec. 15 surrounded by his family. He was born a flatlander on May 11, 1956, in Plentywood, Mont., and grew up in Pinehurst, Idaho. He eventually raised his own family in Rathdrum, Idaho.

He didn’t have much success with deer or elk tags but could hunt up a bounty of morels and huckleberries to the delight of his family. He had a deep love of the outdoors secondary only to his love and devotion for his family. Wayne had one house rule: anyone is welcome.

Wayne was proceeded in death by his brother, Bruce Lesterberg, and friend Rick Jemison. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marshella, his children, Brook Root and Russel Lesterberg, his grandchildren, Kami, Nikki, Amelia and Elijah, and his siblings, Wanda Schilter and Ron Lesterberg. He will be remembered as a fun-loving uncle to his nieces, Valerie, Karie, Alison, Rayelle, Denise, Katie and nephews Dustin, Solomon, Noah and Aaron. He was also an adoring Papa to Jenni, Johnny, Violet, Rilee and Rachel.

In his own words: “Harn-darn-duh-varn-day!”

Memories and condolences may be shared on Wayne's online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com
