OTHELLO — The Othello High School girls wrestling team defeated East Valley High School Thursday in a dual match on Senior Night at Othello High School.

The Lady Huskies won five of the contested matches and lost two. The other weight classes were forfeits.

Seniors Lexi Monday and Grace Rocha won by pinning their opponents.

Head coach Rafael Ruiz liked what he saw from his team, and said he is pleased with its progress.

“They’re tough,” he said. “The effort is there, no matter what the score is.”

The Lady Huskies advance to the regional tournament on Feb. 12.

The intersection of State Route 282 and Nat Washington Way will be closed the week of April 6 to allow crews to install permanent lights. “This really is the final (closure),” wrote Grant County Administrator Tom Gaines in a media release. “The roundabout will close at 6 a.m. Monday, and we plan to reopen by Friday, possibly sooner if the work finishes early.”
