We all try to maintain that healthy physique throughout the entire calendar year.

Between our existing work week, shuffling kids around, laundry, grocery store and basically just trying to keep up, we often lose sense of where our own health and wellness fits in to the mix.

If you don’t put yourself on that lengthy list of priorities, somewhere preferably near the top of the list, you will wake up one day wondering where the years have gone. Little Johnny and Susie are graduating already, seems like yesterday they were in diapers.

Then, it seems as if in the blink of an eye, your clothes are tighter than they have ever been and you have jeans that haven’t seen the light of day in years.

While we all try to stay healthy, for some reason, we sometimes allow obstacles to negatively creep into our everyday life. Between the existing work week, shuffling kids around, doing laundry, going to the grocery store and basically just trying to keep up with everything, we often lose sense of where our priorities should lie.

You have got to start taking control of your life and your health. Why in the world would you continue to wait any longer? What exactly are you waiting for? Do you even know the answer?

I am a parent just like most of you. I understand the time constraints, outside commitments, sports schedules, grocery store trips, etc.

I get it. With busy schedules and lifestyles, keeping your mind, body and soul healthy can be a major challenge. Everyone has a to-do list a mile long that never truly gets completely finished before you need to add, yet another, thing to do.

The merry-go-round of taking care of everyone and everything else but you and your health is constantly moving. Guess what? You can choose to get off the merry-go-round. Just make a decision and get off the craziness.

But don’t let the hectic pace of life keep you from living yours to the fullest. There are small things you can do that will leave you feeling energetic and upbeat.

Exercise not only helps you build muscle and lose weight, giving you more self-confidence, but it’s vital in maintaining a healthy heart. And don’t think you need to spend hours at a gym to achieve a healthier you. You don’t need a gym membership to acquire a healthier you. Anything that gets your heart pumping will benefit your health.

Do something positive for you. If you aren’t motivated to get moving and incorporate exercise in your daily, yes daily, routine, then find someone who you can buddy up with to help you get motivated.

Trust me, your results will keep you motivated.
