GROSS: It’s math, not sentiment
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 years, 10 months AGO
I could not believe my eyes when the front-page headline Sunday was a comment about a Hayden city councilmember using the math term “gross.” Anyone with common sense can see right through the Coeur d’Alene Press to know they are trying to make an issue for Councilmember White.
The comments made by Mayor Griffitts were also ridiculous. Mayor Griffitts, reporter Devin Weeks and editor Mike Patrick are apparently not as intelligent as Councilmember White in that they don’t know a gross refers to a group of 144 items. When they were discussing 144 Apartment units, White uttered the word “gross” as a math term not an opinion of the apartment buildings.
The Coeur d’Alene Press shows their extreme bias and the mayor of Hayden, also appears to be that way. An apology to Councilmember White should be immediately issued by all forementioned parties.
I hope these continued attacks on good councilmembers, just trying to do their job, will not continue. The mayor should be utterly embarrassed that he didn’t understand this was taken out of context by The Press and said what he did in the paper.
The good people of Hayden should remember this, when it comes to election time, should he choose to run for re-election. Do you want a mayor that chooses to be divisive over a comment taken completely out of context? I certainly hope not. As for The Press, we would like to know more about the city council issues, not made-up nonsense!
