PLUMMER — First, Lakeside stole the ball and a win over the Wallace Miners to conclude Scenic Idaho Conference play on Saturday night.
Then, the Knights grabbed the top seed to the 1A Division I District 1 tournament by winning a coin flip following a 39-38 win over the Miners.
Genesis Prep (7-8, 0-4 SIC) will face Wallace (12-4, 3-1) in a loser-out game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at North Idaho College, with the winner advancing to Thursday’s championship game against Lakeside (10-5, 3-1).
Destiny Matt stole a Wallace pass as time expired for Lakeside, which led 33-17 at halftime. Arianna Havier-Gorr scored 14 points for Lakeside.
“We played well in the first half, and defensively the entire game,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. “Offensively, we didn’t do very well in the second half. We had an 11 point lead in the fourth quarter and took some shots we shouldn’t have and gave them chances to get back into it. Arianna had a really good game.”
Brittany Phillps scored 14 points for Wallace.
