POST FALLS — Senior Jack Sciortino had 14 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists as the Post Falls Trojans beat the Shadle Park Highlanders 58-46 on Saturday afternoon at The Arena to snap a 14-game losing streak.

Langan Naylor had 13 points, Christian VonBruck six rebounds and Asher Bowie 11 points for Post Falls (4-16), which hosts Moscow in the Inland Empire League and regular season finale on Wednesday.

“Asher had a good overall game and Langan did a good job of being aggressive and getting into the lane and breaking their defense down,” Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. “The guys really buckled down defensively and didn’t allow them to beat us off the dribble. Our guys off the bench did a good job of sparking us.”

Post Falls’ last win came on Dec. 16 against Minico of Rupert, a 46-44 win in the Owyhee Holiday Tournament in Meridian.

“It’s been a long spell of seeing some success on the scoreboard,” McLean said. “But our guys just continue to improve. Our decision making was a lot better and it was a good sign of the character on this team tonight.”

Makai Daniels scored 15 points for Shadle Park (5-15).

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Cameren Cope poured in 25 points for the host Vikings, who led by 19 points after three quarters before holding off the Hawks in Inland Empire League play at Viking Court.

The 6-foot-5 Cope, who has signed to play football at Weber State, was 10 of 12 from the field with an estimated four dunks, and was 5 of 7 from the free-throw line. He scored 13 points in the first quarter.

“This was kind of the breakout game we’ve been waiting for Cam to have,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jon Adams said. “He was just playing with tons of energy, tons of effort. That was Cam’s best game; he just dominated.

“And thank God he was on, because we weren't.”

Logan Orchard added 12 points, Steven Burgess 11 for Coeur d’Alene (14-4, 7-2 IEL).

“I don’t think we played our best basketball,” Adams said. “Fortunately, Cam bailed us out.”

Lakeland wraps up the regular season Tuesday at Lake City.
