COEUR d’ALENE — Nathan Hocking had 15 points and the Lake City Timberwolves wrapped up their second straight league title with a 59-32 victory over the visiting Lakeland Hawks in the Inland Empire League and regular season finale for both teams Tuesday night.

Blake Buchanan added 11 points and nine rebounds for Lake City (20-1, 8-1 IEL), which won the 5A IEL last season. Zach Johnson had nine points and six rebounds, Kolton Mitchell nine points and four steals for the Timberwolves.

“We win by 27, but I just didn’t feel great,” Lake City coach Jim Winger said. “We played hard but not overly smart. It was good, but good isn’t good enough. We’ve had a helluva year, (but) the next two games we need to be better than we were tonight.”

Scotty Hocking scored 10 points for Lakeland (8-10, 3-5).

Lake City plays host to No. 4 seed Post Falls on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the first round of the 5A Region 1 tournament.
