WRESTLING
BONNERS FERRY — Kellogg, behind five champions, claimed the 3A District 1 championship at Bonners Ferry High.
Wyatt Hei (113), Jaeger Hall (126), Tanner Williams (132), Ethan Guy (138) and Brady Vergobbi (152) won titles for Kellogg, which finished with 241 points and won districts for the first time since going back-to-back in 2015 and ’16. Tournament host and defending champion Bonners Ferry was second with 220 points and four champions.
The top three in each weight class, with a wild card possible for the fourth-place finisher, advance to state Feb. 25-26 at Holt Arena in Pocatello.

ST. MARIES — Tristan Gentry-Nelson, one of five players honored on senior night, totaled 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals as the Lumberjacks wrapped up a perfect Central Idaho League season with the win over the Maniacs.
Junior Greyson Sands had 14 points for St. Maries (16-3, 4-0 CIL), and senior Coleman Ross added 10 points, six rebounds and four steals.
“Defensively, we played a pretty solid game tonight,” said St. Maries coach Bryan Chase, whose squad broke the game open with an 18-7 second quarter. “We probably turned them over seven or eight times in that quarter, and our press got us some layups.”
Orofino is 8-7, 0-4.
St. Maries concludes the regular season tonight at 7 at home vs. Sandpoint.

WALLACE — Luke Trogden hit three 3-pointers — all in the first half — and scored 17 of his 32 points before intermission as the visiting Tigers beat the Miners at Kirby Krulitz Court for the first time in years.
“He was able to score at the bucket a fair amount, and he was able to find guys for some key baskets that we really needed,” Mullan coach Paul Elston said.
Austin Zingler added 10 points for Mullan (6-10).
“Trystan Zingler and Logan Petit gave us huge minutes off the bench,” Elston said. “And Floyd Nelson gave us some pretty good defense in the fourth quarter when we had to have it.”
Izayah Jaramillo scored 16 points, Landon Streeter 13 for Wallace (3-13).
Elston, in his eighth year working at Mullan, said it’s the first time the Tigers have beaten Wallace in boys hoops since he’s been there.
“This win’s for these guys; they played so well together when it really mattered,” Elston said.
Mullan plays Kootenai on Tuesday at North Idaho College in a semifinal game of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament.
Wallace plays Genesis Prep on Tuesday at NIC in a semifinal game of the 1A Division I District 1 tourney.
