Susannah Gayle Gibson, 77

Susannah Gayle Gibson, 77, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Seattle, Wash., the daughter of Carl and Mildred (Bryant) Seifert. Sue succumbed to complications from Covid-19 with her children by her side.

Sue loved deeply. She especially loved her family. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Sue's life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom and grandma —supportive, kind, gentle, loving, honest, funny and creative. She enjoyed sewing costumes, clothes, and quilts for her family. She also shared her love with food such as handmade gyozas and her special chocolate-banana-marshmallow birthday cakes!

Sue worked with her mother at Locust Homes Shelter Care Facilities in Coeur d'Alene for many years. She consistently shared her heart and life and sacrificially gave her time and talents to take care of the needs of others.

Sue had a strong, personal relationship with Jesus. She attended The Church of the Nazarene for over 40+ years. She not only attended church regularly but had strong relationships with others in the church. The highlight of her week was to spend time with her Bible study group. She loved sharing the Word of God and had strong faith.

Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 — "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." Sue also wholeheartedly trusted that the Lord would take care of her and those she loved. Philippians 4:5-7 was also her living testimony, "Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Sue is survived by her children, Samantha Osselaer and husband Jim, Nikki Mayne and husband Fred, Roman Gibson and wife April; grandchildren, Stefan Krupp, Danielle Mayne, Ian Osselaer, Andrew Gibson and Benjamin Gibson; siblings, Fred Seifert, Tom Seifert and wife Cheryl, Kathy Seifert and several nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Please join us in celebrating her life at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at The Church of The Nazarene, 4000 N. Fourth St. #5114, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815. A family Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
