Feb. 22, 1922 – SCHOOL SITE PURCHASED
One more chapter in the new high school project was completed when the school board decided to purchase one-half of the block at the corner of Pine and Euclid streets. The consideration is $8250. Included in the purchase are 12 lots, or exactly one-half of the block, in area 300 feet square. The property at present is occupied by five dwelling houses, three of which will be removed by the owners, while the other two will become the property of the school district, representing a value of $800. Although it has been the contention of late that the board had no legal way by which it could pay for a site for the new building, it was unanimously voted at the meeting to pay for it out of the general fund. The unanimous vote, however, was of but five members, E.W. Wheelan, who has been the dissenting member as regards to a site purchase, having tendered his resignation the morning previous. It is understood he resigned because he could not agree to take a step which he considered illegal.

BONNER TO HAVE TWO REPRESENTATIVES
Bonner county, which heretofore had one house representative at the state legislature, will in the 1923 session have two members. This is due to the county’s increased voting strength at the last gubernatorial election; the ratio being one representative for each 2500 votes and one for remaining fraction thereof amounting to 1000 votes or more.
