COEUR d'ALENE — Sandpoint girls basketball wasn't unable to contain Coeur d'Alene, the fourth-ranked 5A team in the state, on Tuesday night.
The Vikings sailed to a 54-15 nonleague victory to secure a season sweep of the Bulldogs.
Madison Symons and Skylar Burke combined for 25 points to lead the Vikings.
"Symons and Burke were as advertised," head coach Will Love said.
The Bulldogs scored 2 points in the first quarter and struggled to find the bottom of the net all night.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Sandpoint.
Daylee Driggs scored a team-high 8 points and Kelsey Cessna had 2.
The Bulldogs (6-6) play host to Lakeland at 5:30 p.m. Friday. It's the first meeting between the two schools since Sandpoint beat Lakeland in a winner-take-all Game 3 of the 4A Region 1 championship series last February to advance to state for the seventh time in eight years.
