The power to promote the "who's who" of 2022 lives within you.

Nominations for The Business Journal of North Idaho's Best of North Idaho are open now. Visit cdapress.secondstreetapp.com/Best-of-2022/ to name your local favorites in categories such as Visionaries, Home and Remodeling, Real Estate, Senior Services, Retail, Beverages, Dining and more.

"Winners earn bragging rights for the year. They get to display the logos in their ads and they get to market that,“ Press Advertising Director and Best Of coordinator Kari Packer said Tuesday. "People who are from the area or have been in the area for a bit, whether you won in 2016 or 2021, people recognize the logo and it will drive business for years to come."

The recognizable logo featuring the golden laurel, ribbon and Best Of emblem is meaningful to the community and will continue to be, Packer said.

“It’s just like the Oscars," she said. "You’re never not an Oscar winner. You’re always Mr. President once you’ve been president. You’re always a Best Of winner."

This year's theme will again celebrate Superheroes of Business.

“We continued with that from the standpoint that it hasn’t really gotten easier for anybody on any level,” Packer said. "We’re staying with the superhero theme because it’s fun, unique and bright.”

Nominations may be submitted one time per person during the nomination period, which ends at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 31.

Then, voting on the top nominees opens Feb. 6 and runs through Feb. 27. Winners will be notified March 1-11.

"With the new people moving to the community, the brand value of being recognized as the Best Of is only going to grow,” Packer said. "It’s an excellent time for businesses that haven’t partaken in the past to jump on, nominate, share and ask people for their support."

Rabbit season is over for the Art Spirit Gallery. The popular metal bunny sculpture "Harvey" that has watched over downtown Coeur d'Alene since 2015 from its post at the south end of a Diamond parking lot adjacent to the gallery is hopping away to its new home in Arizona this weekend. It is expected to be installed at the home of John and Julie Vanderwey midweek. "It's going into a very unique situation," John Vanderwey said Friday in a phone call with The Press. "I love it. It’s so fun. We’re building our whole backyard around it."
